US Gap Year Internship
There are 3 million Africans residing in North America. Many live in the US. A lot of them have yet to hear the gospel. Borderless seeks to strategically place individuals and families near these unreached immigrants and refugees. If this opportunity excites you, our 4-12 month gap year program is a great place to start. You’ll serve with a local Borderless team, building relationships with immigrants and refugees (think: lots of coffee and tea) and partnering with a local church for outreach. You may help with an ESL program, partner with a resettlement program, or teach driving lessons. Gospel-sharing opportunities abound. Develop Christ-like character and learn basic skills for outreach among the unreached while receiving hands-on training in a supportive environment. You’ll join a team in Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, Georgia, or Florida. Borderless is a ministry initiative of Africa Inland Mission. Borderless works with local churches in cross-cultural mission, reaching African immigrants and refugees who are building new lives in our communities.

Born out of Africa Inland Mission’s heart for reaching Africa’s unreached, TIMO, or Training In Ministry Outreach, is a 2-3 year training program designed to equip men and women for long-term ministry. Read moreSometimes one of the best ways to love others is through loving their children. Our outreach team in the Washington DC area partners with a local non-profit, fostering relationships among the unreached through teaching English as a second language. A lot of the learners at the ESL site are mothers of young children. They need a children’s program coordinator at the ESL site who can create engaging programs for children ages 0-6. Nearly 20% of the people in the area were born outside of the US. So, in addition to administering the children’s program, you will get to research and understand the ethnically-diverse community and its needs, build relational bridges through friendships that lead to gospel conversations and discipleship opportunities, and partner with a local church in outreach. Borderless is a ministry initiative of Africa Inland Mission. Borderless works with local churches in cross-cultural mission, reaching African immigrants and refugees who are building new lives in our communities.
