To help a missionary family in home schooling their children to enable them to have more opportunities to build relationships and be involved in other ministries.

This support role will allow the parents to increase the effectiveness of their ministry within their local community. Furthermore, the home school teacher will have opportunities to minister to adults and the local children e.g. telling bible stories.
Opportunities to build relationships with the Sakalava people will arise as she/he learns language and culture.

The length of this opportunity is flexible - from 10 months up to 2 years.

Major Tasks:
Teaching – following the French home school curriculum.
Extra curriculum activities – taking the children out into nature, with field trips and sports etc. as part of the curriculum.
Language and culture – learning and building relationships among the Sakalava people.
Team life – participating in team life and ministry.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and in a school setting is required, with previous cross-cultural experience desired.
- Understanding of the French educational system would be an asset.
- Applicant must be a fluent French speaker as well as a qualified teacher.
